I wanted to share
this strong list of book recommendations from Hillsdale College. No surprise, it's fairly heavy on works from the Great Books, with a couple of more modern entries. I haven't read the modern ones, but I'm putting them on my to-do list right now.
I've read The Odyssey and Augustine's Confessions twice, I'm about to do my second read of King Lear and I've also read The Abolition of Man; all great books! I have Crime and Punishment on my list and plans to read Plato's Republic later this year but so far no plans to read the others. I hadn't even heard of the Constitution of Liberty! Thanks for the link to the list, Peder!
ReplyDeleteYay! I've read a whopping two and a half from this list. (C&P, Confessions, and some of the Federalist Papers) Making progress!
